      Comments:

this is an excellent bike for the beginner or intermediate rider looking for a durable, lightweight, and nimble bike that's great on both paved and unpaved trails or as a comfortable commuter. it provides a step up in components over the Hardrock Disc, from suspension to brakes to shifting and some lighter aluminum parts swapped in opposed to the Hardrock Disc. a great all-around bike for the casual user and every day rider. excellent value.

It has been over 10 years since I had to buy a bike and this one hit it right on the head. Neil at the Fredericksburg store was great to deal with. Have been out a couple of times since I got it and it handles GREAT. No problems. Looking forward to may years of great rides on this one.

Great bike for entry level riders!! Handles well and is a pretty nice bike for the price. Do not expect much for the price but even do this is an excellent bike for those that like to ride casually and have some fun. I highly recommend this bike for those that are in a entry level and want to upgrade from a conventional bike to an entry level mountain bike. For the money this bike does the job god in off even if the components aren't the best.

I use this bike for all my biking purposes. If you just want one bike for a good price for all your needs, get this. It has great front suspension and a rugged frame for cross country biking and singletrack. The tires are powerful yet not overly knobbly, making them both fast and durable. The suspension can be turned off with the flip of a switch for road biking, which is alright, because the frame is light. This bike looks sweet, especially in the red and black. Get this bike if you want speed, versatility, and a good price.

I have raced with it in the clifford park assault mtb race last june. It has held up great. I have upgraded my rear derailleur to sram X7... Made a huge differance... Also My front fork to rock shox dart 3. I got jucie hydraulic breaks. It just needed upgrades when i bought it.

            Comments:

I started riding the Hardrock, about a month ago, but I've tried many bikes before this. This is truly the best entry level bike. I've tried Trek, Jamis, Fuji, and all the department store bikes but this bike is hands down the best bike for your money. Specialized creates such well engineered bikes that you feel like you can do anything with them.

            • Grips twists easily
            • Too much chain slap
            • Cheap break levers

            Best Uses

            • Pathway and some trails
            • Easy trails

            Comments:

It's a very good entry level hard tail bike. Could use better fork like rockshox or fox fork instead of the suntour fork with mechanical lockout. After 3 weeks of use my rear wheel rims got bent and was charged $25 to get it straightened out which I believed that it should be free and still under warranty.
