Details

Enjoy every minute of your ride on Specialized's Ruby Elite Compact. This high-tech women's-specific ride sports Specialized's super-light and comfortable FACT 8r-carbon frame with a full-carbon fork — a stellar setup that gets up to speed with ease, corners like a champ and also takes the sting out of rough roads for ride-all-day fun. Plus, this super roadster boasts Shimano's reliable 105 drivetrain and a compact crankset that always offers the perfect gearing for the road's ups and downs. You'll also love the Fulcrum wheels that make every ride easier and the top-notch Specialized women's-specific components including the comfy Body Geometry seat.

Specialized's women's bikes make every ride a blast!

To optimize fit, pedaling efficiency, comfort and control, Specialized tailors the geometry and components on their women’s bikes to feminine physiques. The frames are engineered with smaller-diameter tubes to decrease weight and increase compliance. Shorter top tubes provide a perfect fit and greater stand-over height on small frames allows for easy on/off. And, for a truly custom feel, Specialized includes small-diameter grips, narrow handlebars and women's saddles that make every ride more fun and comfortable than you could ever imagine.

    Comments:

While on vacation in Tenn. I purchased a "hybrid" (T-bars, big seat, 27 speeds). After 5 weeks of sore knees and not being able to keep up with the group I was riding with, I decided to try out a road bike. 5 minutes on the Ruby and I was instantly transported to cycling heaven! It has increased my endurance and ability just by the way it handles!! It changed my average ride of 8 miles to 20! At the "young" age of 59, I look forward to many years of cycling pleasure with Ruby. I love it and look forward to every ride!

      Comments:

I upgraded to the Ruby a few months ago and I've loved every moment. This is my first woman-specific bike, and I'm amazed at the difference in comfort level. The Ruby is light and responsive, and the Shimano drivetrain shifts like butter. I wasn't too sure about getting a compact double instead of a triple, since I live where it's hilly, but it's been fine. The few times I've had to walk up a hill has been due to my own fitness level and not the bike. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to hit the road, put on a lot of miles, and have a great time doing it!
